Goat Rock Beach

Goat Rock, near the mouth of the Russian River, is known for its scenic shoreline and easily accessible sandy beach. Picnic tables and restroom facilities are also available. Goat Rock beach is home to a colony of harbor seals which are fun to watch, but please stay 50 yards from the seals, especially during pupping season (March - August.) Due to the protected status of the seals, NO DOGS are allowed on Goat Rock Beach. 707-875-3483

Russian Riverkeeper updates Sonoma County Coastal beaches weekly based on sample results from the Department of Health Services. A beach will be marked red when Total Coliform exceed 1,000 (if Fecal/Total is > .1) or 10,000 (if Fecal/Total is < .1) OR when Fecal Coliform exceeds 400 per 100 ml OR when Enterococcus exceeds 104 per 100 ml.

Sonoma County Department of Health Services monitors 7 coastal beaches weekly between April 1 and October 31.These beaches are visited by 50,000 people per year and are adjacent to storm drains, creek or rivers.
