Manhem Beach Club

Bronx, New York

Most of the Bronx beaches are private and this club is no exception. The Manhem Beach Club is a private Swedish-American beach club located on Clarence Avenue in the Bronx, New York. The beach looks out over City Island and the Long Island Sound, like all the other clubs on the strip. This club accepts new members, but it requires applicants to be sponsored by a current member(s) in good standing. Like many other private clubs that want to maintain their exclusivity, this club does not have a public website. One member described this area as "a strip of heaven that we try to keep secret." In fact, most people do not know about the private beaches on this strip. The waters here are tested regularly for swimming purposes. For more information, call (718) 822-8965.

COVID-19

Keep your distance from other people.

Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
