The Beacon Harbor sampling site has recreational boating, kayaking, and fishing. There is a seasonal public "river pool" to the north, and a storm drain overflow in the vicinity.
Hudson Riverkeeper has sampled at this location since 2008 from May through October. Monthly testing is not frequent enough to make a safe swimming determination. Riverkeeper is advocating for high frequency testing and data reporting along the Hudson River wherever the public swims, boats and fishes.
