BEACH INFO:
Two peaceful south west facing pebbled beaches off Franklin Road, just a few blocks from the centre of Gibsons Landing. Pebbles Beach is accessed through a small park at the intersection of Burns and Franklin Roads and has a nice secluded feel. Atlee Beach, accessed at the foot of Cochrane Road, is a family friendly spot with small tide pools to explore. There are steep stairs leading down to both these beaches that could prove difficult for some. A large rocky outcrop divides the two, but can be climbed over by the more adventurous and sure footed.
Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
