In the 17th century, settlers used the land as a grazing area for cows giving the beach its present name. Following this, the beach was used for disembarkation and encampment during the Tryon raid of the American Revolutionary War. Calf Pasture Beach and Park was officially opened in 1924.
Visitors to the beach and park can enjoy many amenities including basketball and volleyball courts, skate park, picnic areas, boat rentals, and a concession stand. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer season.
You must have a pass to enter the beach. Passes are free for Norwalk residents. If you are not a resident, you can obtain a day pass at the beach.
