Groton - East Shore (South)

This sandy beach provides visitors access to Fisher Island Sound. It is located in the Groton Long Point Community, a popular tourist destination in the summer. The population almost quadruples in the summer months but retains a quiet peaceful atmosphere that is perfect for families with small children.

Ledge Light Health District monitors water quality at beaches in this region from mid-May to mid-September. Water samples are collected at weekly from different bathing areas. Advisories are posted to the health district website.

Swim Guide checks the advisories daily, during the monitoring season.
