This site has slight to moderate use often by families with young children. It is infrequently used for an entry or exit point for paddlers - infrequently because of the difficulty of access.

Since the failing Beaver Creek WWTP has been closed this section of the river is cleaner and Choctawhatchee Riverkeeper is working with the Alabama Dept. of Environmental management to try to get the river segment reclassified with a swimming use designation. There are however livestock with access to the river not far upstream from this site. Caution should be exercised when using it with youngsters or anyone with underlying health issues. We are working to try to get the livestock issues addressed.
Testing will be done again a few days before Independence Day and a few days before Labor Day.
