Terrapin Park

Terrapin Park sits on 276 acres of Bay front land north of the Kent Island Terminus of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The park includes over 4,000 feet of shoreline and 73 acres of wetlands, making it a destination for nature and wildlife enthusiasts. From the two observation blinds which border the tidal ponds, herons, ospreys, swans, turtles, bullfrogs and a variety of songbirds can be seen. There is also a great swimming beach.

Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy monitors water quality at sites in this region. Sampling Season starts Memorial Day Weekend and ends Labor Day Weekend.

Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy utilizes the standardized EPA criteria of 104 cfu/100 ml for collecting and analyzing water samples. Water samples are collected every month. Results are posted as soon as lab results are available. Results will be communicated through the swim guide app. Results tables are available by email or by calling Midshore Riverkeeper Conservancy at 443 385 0511.

A beach is marked Green when single sample results are under 104 Enterococcus / 100 ML water.

A beach is marked Red when the results are equal to or above 104 Enterococcus / 100 ML water. If a sample exceeds the standard the site is retested the following week.

A beach is marked Grey when there are no current results or there is no available information.
