Bill Burton Fishing Pier State Park is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The piers are lighted and quite popular because of the variety of fish that can be caught including perch, striped bass, croakers, sea trout, and catfish. Both the Talbot County and Dorchester County sections of the piers are lighted for night fishing from April 1st through December 31st, and the Dorchester County side of the pier is open and lighted year round. The pier adjoins Sailwinds Park via the walkway under the bridge.

ShoreRivers monitors water quality at sites in this region. Sampling Season starts Memorial Day Weekend and ends Labor Day Weekend.

ShoreRivers utilizes the standardized EPA criteria of 104 cfu/100 ml for collecting and analyzing water samples. Water samples are collected every month. Results are posted as soon as lab results are available. Results will be communicated through the swim guide app. Results tables are available by email or by calling ShoreRivers at 443 385 0511.

A beach is marked Green when single sample results are under 104 Enterococcus / 100 ML water.

A beach is marked Red when the results are equal to or above 104 Enterococcus / 100 ML water.

A beach is marked Grey when there are no current results or there is no available information.
