Campobello Island

Campobello Island, New Brunswick

Campobello island is located within the Bay of Fundy and is bordered by many beaches. It is only accessible by ferry ride from Deer Island (from the Canadian side), you can also drive into Campobello Island on the bridge from Main (USA). Visitors staying in Campobello island will have the pleasure to discover many beaches and are surrounded by the Herring Cove Provincial Park and the Roosevelt International Park. Swimming in Campobello is rare as water stays between 5-6 degrees year round, but it is a great place to see wildlife up close. It is very common to kayak off of Campobello’s beaches; however, one must be cautious because it is home to a great whale migration and it is not unheard of whales accidentally colliding with kayaks. Kayaks should also look out for the curious seal which will come very close to the boats and some sharks.
**For more information about any of the beaches please see the visitors centre. They were very helpful with all of Campobello’s beach descriptions.
