A popular swimming hole in the summer, this site is home to the Old Drift Creek Covered Bridge. Having fallen in to disrepair the bridge was closed to even foot traffic in 1988. It was later auctioned off for $1.00 by the county with the one provision.....you had to move it. One local family did just that raising the money to dismantle, retrofit and relocate the bridge to span Bear Creek, a tributary to the Salmon River to the northeast about 1o miles as the crow flies. The new site of the Drift Creek Bridge welcomes visitors as it stretches to the Sweitz families home on the far side of the creek.

Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
