Located in the north-west corner of the island, Playa Crash Boat Beach sits on the site of a former military port. During WWII this port was used to rescue air crews from a nearby air force base. Remains of the port still exist and serve as a popular spot to fish or jump into the water. This is a very popular beach for locals, with calm and clear water good for snorkeling. There are two parking lots, one large and paid, one small and free. There are many food options available at the beach included a range of local cuisine. Restrooms and changing facilities are available.
Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
