Monte Rio beach is popular for kayaking, canoeing, and swimming and is ADA accessible. Great spot for picnic, BBQ, boat launch, fishing. For canoe & kayak rentals, call 707-865-0400

There is a food concession stand that is stocked with cold drinks, ice cream and lunchable items. Volleyball courts and horseshoe pits are free to any who wish to play. The parking lot is only open during the regular season and closes at 8pm.

Monte Rio Beach, is open to the public Memorial weekend through the last weekend in September each year.

The Sonoma County Department of Health Services, in cooperation with the North Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board and the Sonoma County Water Agency, monitors bacterial levels in the water at beaches on the Russian River, and also monitors Spring Lake Lagoon in cooperation with the Sonoma County Regional Parks Department. Sampling is conducted once a week each summer between Memorial Day and Labor Day. For current postings, call the Beach Sampling Hotline at (707) 565-6552
