The beach fills many needs as it is the finish line for the popular Maryland Freedom Swim across the Choptank River, and a great stop-over spot for families traveling to or from the ocean. It's not uncommon to find locals under the picnic table enjoying a half bushel of crabs from T.L. Mooris right across the river. Other amenities at Sailwinds Park include restrooms, a relaxing garden with native plants, mile-long boardwalk, and "Flying goose" monument fountain.
