TCNP is a 466 acre Forever Wild property located in Pinson, Alabama, only 15 miles north of Birmingham. The Preserve is home to some of the most stunning and unique beauty found anywhere in the Southeast. It was established through a partnership between Alabama’s Forever Wild Program and the Freshwater Land Trust and is co-managed by the Southern Environmental Center (SEC) and the State Lands Division.
Admission is free and there are many activities possible in the Preserve. In summer the most popular is swimming in the Blue Hole, playing along the rippling creek, or sliding down the natural water slide at the falls. Picnicking is allowed but charcoal grills are not. The Blue Hole, shown here, is a favorite for its depth. There are Port-o-lets at the Blue Hole and a few parking places nearby.
Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is essential right now. Follow the advice of the health experts. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Heading to the beach should only be considered an option if social distancing practices can be followed. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter the efforts to curb the virus’ spread.
