The River Road Park boat ramp is located at River Road Park off of River Rd. It is located on the Cape Fear River, east of Keg Island. Area is tidally driven with rough water conditions dependent on weather. Check tides and wind before departing. Launch is ideal for motor boats and kayaks/canoes. Area around ramp can be shallow dependent on tide. Shark Tooth and Keg Islands are a short paddle from the launch and provide the opportunity to find shark teeth and other fossils. Parking is available at the park as well as a large fishing pier, tables and grills.
Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
