The town of Alberta Beach is a popular summer spot located 75km west of Edmonton.
The beach area is situated right in the heart of town, along the shore of Lac Ste. Anne. It is sandy and has a grassy picnic area. The water is shallow and warm. Algae is commonly seen floating in the water. While there is no parking on site, there is a parking lot located nearby. All the amenities for a day at the beach are here or within close proximity. Alberta Beach is the host of the annual Lac St. Anne Pilgrimage in August.
Keep your distance from other people.
Practicing social distancing is still essential. Only go to the beach if you are able to keep 6 feet or 2 meters away from others. Follow the instructions provided by your local health authorities. If your community has asked that you remain indoors and away from others, do so. Spending a day in any crowded place is the worst thing we can do for our most vulnerable right now and will counter our efforts to curb the virus’s spread.
