City Beach is located in downtown scenic Sandpoint, Idaho at the end of Bridge Street. City Beach has so much to offer including unparalleled views of Lake Pend Oreille and Schweitzer Mountain, supervised swim areas that are free of herbicides, a playground for the kids, sand volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, shaded grassy areas for barbequing, a snack bar and a pavilion that can be reserved for get-togethers with family and friends. City Beach is an easy stroll from all of the shops and eateries on 1st Avenue and is adjacent to the Best Western Edgewater Resort and the renowned Trinity restaurant.

Lake Pend Oreille Waterkeeper monitors water quality at 15 stations across Lake Pend Oreille and the Pend Oreille River, from Bayview to Priest River.

Samples are collected on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (weather permitting). E. Coli reults will be posted on Swim Guide weekly, reflecting the most current month's data. In addition, all stations are monitored for the following: water temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, transparency, total nitrogen, nitrate+nitrite, total phosphorous, orthophosphate, total organic carbon, and total coliforms. Chlorophyll a measurements are conducted at select locations during the months of August and September. To review the complete set of monitoring results, please visit www.lpow.org.

Swim Guide has assigned this station with a Special Status of Gray meaning the information in not collected weekly. The data that is collected will be used to determine the overall health of these waters. If the test results show concentrations higher than 406 E. Coli per 100ml Swim Guide will enter the beach as posted.
